At SCPS Unlimited, our prop makers create awe-inspiring weapons, massive puppeteered robots, festival & concert props, theme park props and even larger than life bottles of breakfast syrup. We do them all and more, very, very well.

See how we brought Pringleleo to life as a fully realized, on-camera character designed for broadcast performance.
Our principal was involved in build supervision and integration of custom puppets within a large-scale film production.
When SanDisk wanted to launch its new Creator Series SSDs, they turned to SCPS Unlimited to make a bold statement.
Featured in a Fan Duel Super Bowl commercial, we built several of the Alexa like props with different functionalities and in a variety of sizes.
We created a slew of elements for the game, including ammo pouches, hero firearms for main characters, a stylized “buzz” axe, grenades that turn into firing turrets, rocket launcher, shotguns, assault weapons and more.
Faithful to the design of an actual rosary, the large scale concert prop we created for country singer Jelly Roll consisted of a three foot tall golden cross and fifty-nine marble finished beads that housed individual, programmable lightning systems
Konami Gaming Inc., a global leader in casino gaming systems sought our services to help create the prototype for the Concerto slot machine designed by Stuart Karten Design
A marvel of motion, this robot has articulation doors that open up his chest so that the hero product can come spiraling out in a beautiful, repeatable and fluid motion.
THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT – Chapter 5 Din Djarin (the Mandalorian) made his debut in The Book of Boba Fett with a dramatic entrance cutting through a meat-packing facility complete with 15 life-sized hanging creature carcasses. The carcasses were created by our set decoration team based on designs provided by the production.
Pre-visualization was the key to successfully producing this E-TRADE commercial. The two environments were first created digitally which allowed us to determine the best camera path for a seamless transition from one to the other. Using a combination of CNC machining, large scale printing and hand painting, we pre-staged everything in our studio to ensure that everything lined up perfectly.
The Last Ship
We created several visual effects elements to represent a deadly virus. Using a variety of materials, chemicals, and techniques, we performed numerous tests to ensure that the seemingly real visuals worked in camera. The most realistic looking ones were then re-created on the show’s set and filmed for the trailer.
Black Adam
Warner Bros. asked us to construct a sci-fi-looking gurney sturdy enough to support Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for Black Adam. In addition to the cantilevered design needing to be stable and strong, the device also had to be functional, so our designers and engineers worked with our welding department to create an adjustable bed with steerable casters.
Arrested Development
Since 2005, we’ve assisted the art department for Arrested Development in their creation of wacky props. Most notably, the many incarnations of Buster’s hand. His first artificial appendage was a hook we designed, followed by an oversized bionic hand in season 4. In season 5, his unsheathed, metal, robotic hand was our most technically involved to date. The animatronic hand Buster wore was remotely puppeteered by a secondary glove, which fit with sensors that allowed the robotic hand to mimic the action of the actor wearing the control glove.
KFC launched a marketing campaign to celebrate their joyous union with Mrs. Butterworth’s and asked us to be a part of it. To recreate a pair of giant Mrs. Butterworth’s bottles and bring them to life, our digital chefs cooked up designs for the 6-foot-tall amber lady and engineered them for puppetry and rigging. Two versions crafted were from lightweight vacuum formed materials including the iconic posed bottle form and a second complete with articulating arms built to be puppeteered by our team.
Spider-Man Homecoming
The stolen tech modified by Tinkerer in Spider-Man Homecoming called for a retrofit of the gauntlets we had previously designed for Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War. We worked with the director and costume department to redesign the new gauntlets and produce several sets including a soft stunt set for the fight scenes. We also engineered the hero gauntlet with remote controlled lighting for some amazing effects.
The larger than life Samuel L. Jackson mascot head we produced was featured in a Capital One commercial called “Chuck U”, that aired prior to the NCAA men’s March Madness tournament.
We recreated the well-known crash test dummy Buster, from the television series MythBusters to take part in an epic food fight showing off the cleaning power of Tide. Digitally sculpted and 3D printed in-house, we made sure he was light and poseable for his on-camera scenes, while maintaining his iconic appearance
Westworld
We worked with the creators and designers of HBO’s Westworld to generate a comprehensive and realistic design for a futuristic interactive map system. Our creative technologists developed custom projection mapping software to be used on a 3D surface with contrasting depths, along with motion detection sensors that triggered complex animations. The revolving base motor was programmed to support the physical map’s rotation, precisely synchronizing to the projector’s rotation.
FEATURING OUR WORK
Since 2004 our prop makers have partnered with producers, directors, designers, creatives, and manufacturers to solve their toughest prop and puppeteering challenges, across a wide variety of mediums. From the Typing Robot we created for Geico and the life-sized Mrs. Butterworth’s bottle to the Shocker Gauntlet in Captain America: Civil War, our work has earned the trust and respect of global brands and major motion picture studios. It’s rare to find prop makers who are creative technologists skilled at everything from motorized prop fabrication, and servo programming to rod puppeteering all under one roof. We believe that fact coupled with our commitment and passion has enabled many of our prop projects to maintain a continued presence within the extended universes of Star Wars, Marvel, DC and more.
