The hero in Geico’s “Too Many Robot Tests” commercial is a good example of how we at SCPS Unlimited distill complex objectives into simplified and versatile solutions. When tasked with creating something such as a robot we explore multiple options for fabrication and design before landing on a final direction. In this case we used a modular infrastructure and poseable puppetry to most efficiently achieve movement.

Versatility & Impact

— EFFICIENCY THROUGH DESIGN —

The humanoid robot we made for use in the Geico commercial was conceptually designed with a specific visual look in mind, but functionally created so components like the head and hands could be swapped for different variations with ease. This approach allowed us to provide several visually striking versions within limited timeframes.

Camera-Ready

Our team designs and fabricates props that are camera ready from delivery. Using highly detailed finishing processes and assembly methods enables us to ensure a highly realistic look and feel that fits seamlessly into the story being told.

Bringing characters to life

While the final result of this handcrafted model is visually impressive, it merely hints at the robot’s character. The true personality emerges through the meticulously rehearsed movements and gestures executed by our skilled puppeteers. Following the shoot, post-production editing seamlessly removed puppet rods and puppeteers, leaving behind a robot that appears more than lifelike.
