Working with Team One and Lexus, we created an exhilarating 4D VR simulator that enabled participants to experience riding with a professional racecar driver. 

We started by capturing footage with a 360° camera mounted inside a Lexus RC F. While the pro driver sped through the course at Willow Springs Raceway, sensors collected telemetry data of the ride. Our creative technologists then took the racing footage and telemetry data and synchronized them to our custom-fabricated simulator.

This simulator consisted of a race car seat connected to a motion base. Based on turns, accelerations and braking observed through the VR goggles, servo motors mimicked the same movement for passengers complete with blasts of warm air and the smell of burning rubber. Finished in only three and a half weeks, the simulator debuted at the Long Beach Gran Prix.
