SCPS Unlimited partnered with Argonaut to design and fabricate a creative technology centerpiece for Cricket Wireless’ Celebration Bowl activation. The client wanted to demonstrate the real-world power of its 5G network in a way that felt authentic to the Celebration Bowl and its performance-driven culture.
The ceremonial mace needed to function as a live performance prop for drum majors while capturing immersive 360° video during movement, streaming content in real time over Cricket’s cellular 5G network, and withstanding repeated use in a high-energy live environment.
SOLUTION
From a creative technology perspective, the challenge was balancing full 360° camera capture, LED diffusion, durability, and strict weight limits within a compact performance object.
SCPS Unlimited responded by designing the mace as an embedded creative technology system, integrating a protected 360° camera, programmable LEDs, internal power management, and cellular 5G connectivity into a performance-safe form factor that functioned as both a ceremonial prop and a live broadcast device.

EXECUTION
From the outset, the mace was engineered as a reusable creative technology asset built to perform beyond a single moment. Its construction prioritized durability for repeated live performances, with simple operational workflows that allowed event staff to charge, maintain, and operate the system with ease. Portable and serviceable by design, the mace was adaptable for future activations and capable of functioning independently without requiring SCPS technicians on-site.
To ensure a flawless debut, SCPS Unlimited provided full lifecycle support from fabrication through execution. This included end-to-end systems integration and on-site support from an SCPS creative technologist, who assisted with live streaming, staged content capture, performer education, and real-time troubleshooting. The maces were hand-delivered to the event to guarantee on-time arrival, with travel plans adjusted in advance to account for potential winter weather delays.
